The descriptives of the gore painted a clear picture of one of the death scenes, the way Boris described Junko, the scenery, sensory elements that threw me into the scenes. They are late for the boat ride home, after being warned not to stay on the island after dark. They are stranded and that’s when the creepy things begin to happen. Very well developed characters. If you hear whistling stand very still and don't make a sound. You do not want to meet who is whistling. Will anyone survive, and whobor what should they be more afraid of? • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Doreen Fernandes -- Whistling Wraith : Four people visit Yokai Island as a fun venture. The boatman is reluctant to stay on the island after sundown. Unfortunately the four are stranded on the island when the boatman leaves. Who is the whistling wraith? Are they really in danger or is it only a tale to keep people away from the island? This is a story which is haunting and terrifying. The eerie atmosphere and the sequence of events had me hooked. Some places are best left alone and some people are not to be trusted.
